This post may seem self-explanatory and it is and it’s a reminder to find simple ways to help you stay on your health journey. A green smoothie is a great way to check this one off your list! One of my kid’s (and my) favorite versions is as follows.
2 large handfuls of fresh spinach,
2 cups of coconut water,
½ frozen banana,
1 inch of fresh ginger, sliced and
1 cup of ice.
Add all ingredients into a blender and set on medium to high speed until mixed thoroughly.
This is very hydrating, refreshing and nutritious. You can also substitute whatever greens you have and/or add other ingredients like avocado to make it a bit thicker with more healthy fat.
If you don’t already know me, this is a good example of how I present information. It involves lots of options, enthusiasm and a pinch of this and a dash of that. Make these suggestions your own to fit your preferences and lifestyle otherwise you will be less likely to incorporate them into your life. I also enjoy snacking on cucumbers, snap peas and green beans with humus or an almond milk-based cream cheese with chives (and now available in everything bagel too) from Kite Hill.
Let me know how you incorporate the green stuff into your day!
